Laurence Mark Wythe is the UK born award winning composer and lyricist of the 2011 off-Broadway musical TOMORROW MORNING, a show that has now been seen on four continents, having received productions all around the world.

 

He is currently represented around the world by MIDNIGHT, now playing in Seoul, Korea, (book & co-lyrics by Tim Knapman); and CREATIVES running at the Edge Theatre Chicago, which has a script by Irvine Welsh and Don de Grazia.

 

In 2016 DANNY HERO premiered at the Core Theatre Corby in the UK in October 2016. The show has a book and co-lyrics by Timothy Knapman.

 

LMW wrote music & lyrics for THROUGH THE DOOR which played two seasons in Seoul Korea in 2015 and was seen in the West End at Trafalgar Studios in 2009 starring Julie Atherton and Paul Keating. The show had a New York workshop in 2011 starring Kerry Butler.

 

His musical STEALING MONA LISA had a West End workshop in 2013 starring David Bedella, Jon Robyns, Kieran Brown and Matthew White.

 

When they can find a spare moment, Laurence and Tim Knapman are also writing GROWL! - a new family musical.

 

LMW wrote book, music & lyrics for THE LOST CHRISTMAS, a festive family musical which played at the Waterloo East Theatre in London December 2011, previously played in a 2009 production at the Exchange Studio, Hazlitt Theatre Maidstone. The show has been featured at Perfect Pitch in the West End and at the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford, Kent in the UK. The musical drama ROLL ON THE DAY (music & lyrics) played at the Etcetera Theatre in London in 2012, book by Roberto Trippini.

 

Recordings: TOMORROW MORNING (Original London Cast); THE LOST CHRISTMAS (Studio Cast Album); TOMORROW MORNING (Chicago Cast Recording). The Vienna Cast Album is out on Corcordis Records label. His song Goodnight Kiss features on ALL THINGS IN TIME, the debut album of West End singer Stuart Matthew Price on SimG Records.

 

Awards: TOMORROW MORNING: Outer Critics Circle Awards 2011 - Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical (nominee); Off-Broadway Alliance Awards - Best Musical (nominee); 2009 Jeff Award for Best Midsize Musical and the Jeff for Best Artistic Specialization (Film & Video design); nomination for 2006 Best Musical category Theatre Radio Awards; nominated for 4 Spirit Awards in Norwich Connecticut including Best Score and Best Lyrics.

 

Publications: The vocal selections sheet music book of TOMORROW MORNING was first published in Summer 2009 and reprinted in 2013. His work is included in the Perfect Pitch Songbook published in Summer 2010.

 

Teaching/Lecturing: LMW has taught/lectured at all of London's leading musical theatre colleges and has been musical director for over thirty stage productions. As a tutor, he specialised in song performance & interpretation. He is a director of Theatre Street Performing Arts, a not-for-profit organisation devoted to providing performing arts opportunities for young people in South East London. TSPA has recently expanded to open a full time college for young people, for which Laurence is also a director.

 

Laurence has a long and close association with Perfect Pitch Musicals, a London based organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of new homegrown musical theatre.
